We have immediate openings for a part-time receptionist/office manager and for an experienced and certified teacher interested in joining the Bluegrass Learning team.
Part-time receptionist/office manager: 10-20 hours per week and we can be flexible with your schedule! Great pay and you'll be working in a fun and low-stress environment. Main responsibities include maintaing student files, checking students into the learning center, scheduling phone callss and emails with parents, processing payments from parents, etc. GREAT role for a college student majoring in education or a retired teacher looking to pick up a few hours per week. Teachers: Flexible scheduling around your school and home commitments! We allow you to set your schedule of available days and times, but do ask that you commit to working at least one evening per week.
Currently, we have a need for high school math teachers comfortable working with students taking Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, at a minimum. Expereince teaching Pre-calculus or calculus is preferred but not required.
High school math teachers will work one-to-one in private tutoring sessions. We also offer test preparation services, especially to high school students, and need teachers experienced with ACT test preparation.

Tutor Duties and Responsibilities
- High School Math Teachers- confident helping students with Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II coursework. Ability to help with pre-calculus and AP Calculus is a plus.
- Work with on-grade level students; students who may be struggling and performing well below grade level; and gifted students who need a challenge.
- Provide encouragement and positive motivation to students who may have struggled for a long time. Our first job is often convincing kids they can learn at high levels.
- Work with Senior Education specialist and Bluegrass Learning management to improve the quality of services offered by BLS.
- Collaborate with parents and teachers to evaluate student needs
- Document progress to discuss with parents and educators
Tutor Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education related field, advanced degrees and certifications preferred (Masters, Rank I, doctorate, etc).
- Certified to teach by KY EPSB or similar agency in another state, or for retired teachers, held certification to teach within the last 5 years.
- At least three years of classroom teaching experience.
- For K-8 Tutors; Ability to grow comfortable working with students outside your preferred area of expertise and across grade ranges.
- Proven experience working with children
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Able to work after school hours, until 7:00 or 8:00 p.m. at least one night per week. You can choose your work schedule each week!
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
